Pina coladas and Lava flows are fruity rum and pineapple juice cocktails that are perfect for the beach or tropical-themed parties. If you haven't tried a Pina Colada yet, you don't know what you're missing. A blend of pineapple juice, rum, and coconut cream - it couldn't get any better. The lava flow adds strawberry puree to create the appearance of a bursting & gorgeous lava flow in your glass! Follow these instructions for tropical cocktail bliss!

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 fl oz (50 mL) rum
  • 1 2/3 fl oz (50 mL) coconut rum (You can use Malibu coconut rum)
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 2/3 fl oz (50 mL) coconut cream/coconut milk
  • 2 scoops of crushed ice
  • For Lava flow only: 2 cups of strawberry puree (put the strawberries into a blender & use the puree function).

Steps

Pina Colada

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender.
  2. Put the blender on low speed for about 20 seconds; or until the ice is completely blended in the drink (to the point where you can't hear the ice crushing).
  3. Pour the drink into cocktail or highball glasses, garnish with a slice of pineapple or umbrella, and enjoy!

Lavaflow

  1. Blend all ingredients except the strawberry puree.
  2. Pour it into a glass & then pour the puree over it, making the "lava flow" effect.
  3. Garnish it with a slice of pineapple or umbrella & enjoy!

Tips

  • There are so many varieties of Pina Colada recipes, so be comfortable on the right one with you.
