Make Porridge Using a Microwave

Porridge, similar to oatmeal, can be enjoyed as a hot breakfast meal. Usually it's prepared on the stove top, but with these instructions, you can make it in the microwave.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled porridge oats
  • 1 cup milk
  • Toppings of your choice (maple syrup, golden syrup, honey, chopped fruit, dried fruit, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg or anything you like)

Steps

  1. Tip in the half-cup of porridge oats.
  2. Pour in the cup of milk.
  3. Place in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes on full power.
  4. Take the bowl out of the microwave.
  5. Stir.
  6. Put back in the microwave for 2 minutes on the second highest power.
  7. Take out of the microwave.
  8. Stir.
  9. Add your toppings.
  10. Serve and enjoy.

Tips

  • Keep a note of your favorite toppings and see how they taste together.
  • Don't cook it too much, otherwise it will get really stick.
