Pomegranate juice is a tart, but tasty drink that can be made quickly and easily. Using this easy guide, you can have your very own glass of great pomegranate juice in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pomegranate
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Water
  • Sugar, to taste

Steps

  1. The first thing to do is to cut open your pomegranate, then submerge it in a large bowl filled with water.
  2. Put your pomegranate into the bowl, then remove the seeds underwater, the seeds will sink to the bottom, while the yellow or white membrane will float.
  3. Discard the peel and membranes.
  4. Strain water out of the seeds and then put into your blender. Run your blender a few times so that the seeds are broken up.
  5. Place a mesh strainer over your bowl and pour the seed mixture through the strainer. Then use something to press the pulp against the strainer to extract as much juice as possible.
  6. You now have to add 1/3 cup sugar per 1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice. This will help make the drink sweeter.
  7. Add water and enjoy!

Tips

  • Pomegranate stains almost anything and everything, so never wear light, expensive, or favorite clothes while juicing.
  • A better way to get more juice is to blend all the seeds in a blender, then strain the pulp (use a cloth or handkerchief instead of wringing out all the juice). You'll get more juice and more nutrients as well. In addition, you won't need to add any sugar as extracting the juice this way makes it much sweeter.
  • Watch for stray seeds, which invariably end up staining socks, carpets, and shirts.
