With all the peanut allergies around more often today, it's hard to make all of your favorites. This classic can also be enjoyed by anyone with peanut allergies.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 1/2 cups Chex or Crispix cereal
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

Steps

  1. Put chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave for 1 minute and stir until well blended.
  3. Add vanilla and stir.
  4. Put Chex cereal into a large bowl.
  5. Pour chocolate mix over the cereal and stir.
  6. Once cereal is coated and after it is cooled, pour cereal and powdered sugar in a bag, seal bag, and shake.
  7. Pour into a bowl and enjoy!

Warnings

  • Make sure you use chocolate that was not made in a place that also processes peanuts. Most people only think about actual ingredients in the item, but if it is manufactured on shared equipment, you could still endanger people with allergies. Most packages will mention whether the chocolate was manufactured in a facility that processes nuts and other allergens.
