This rice sandwich is a cute way to Get a Toddler to Eat Lunch. Created in their favorite shape or animal, they will love the food and it will encourage a more relaxing time together during a meal. It's also a great addition to any bento box!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of any kind of rice, for example brown or white
  • Luncheon meat, such as bologna, ham, or spam, or thinly sliced smoked tofu; use 2 slices for each sandwich you're planning to make

Steps

  1. Lay down a piece of luncheon meat (or veggie meat) on a cutting board. Use a cookie cutter of your choice to make a shape out of the meat. Repeat this for all pieces.

  2. Pan fry the meat shapes without oil. When it's lightly cooked, return it back to the cutting board.

  3. Place the meat back in the cookie cutter.

  4. Scoop enough rice into the cutter to fill out about 3/4 full.

  5. Top the rice off with another piece of shaped meat.

  6. Press it down while holding the cookie cutter to make the rice stick together. If your cookie cutter has the imprint part, use that.
  7. Remove the cookie cutter and you will have your rice and meat sandwich!

  8. Finished.
