Making rice with milk is very easy, and very tasty.

Ingredients

Stove Top Method:

  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 cups of rice
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon or 2 cinnamon sticks (optional)

Microwave Method:

  • Precooked rice
  • Milk
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Dash of nutmeg
  • Dash of allspice
  • 2 drops of vanilla
  • Sugar, to taste

Steps

Stove Top Method

  1. Pour 4 cups of milk into a pot and let sit for 2 minutes.
  2. Add 1 cup of sugar to the milk.
  3. Add three cups of rice.
  4. Cook for seven minutes over a medium high heat (we don't want to scorch the milk) until it begins to boil.
  5. Add 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the rice.
  6. Turn the heat down to low.
  7. Cover the pot and let it sit for eight minutes.
  8. In place of ground cinnamon use 2 cinnamon stick broken in half and let the cinnamon sticks boil with milk in step 2. Remove sticks before adding rice.

Microwave Method

  1. Add precooked rice to microwavable bowl. Add just enough to fill you; or enough to fill approximately 2/3 of the bowl.
  2. Add milk to the bowl. Add just enough so the milk almost covers the rice.
  3. Microwave the milk and rice for 1 minute and 20 seconds. Time may vary depending on microwave.
  4. Remove from the microwave and add the following.
    • Dash of cinnamon
    • Dash of nutmeg
    • Dash of allspice
    • Two drops of vanilla
    • Sugar to taste
  5. Stir thoroughly. Enjoy!
  6. Finished.
