We've all seen it at local shows: there's either the guy doing cartwheels or the guy near the back that goes around punching people in the face, no one likes them. But you want to dance! No one is stopping you, just try not to dance like them.

Steps

Two Stepping

  1. Bring One Leg in front of the other and repeat with the other leg also bring the opposite arm in a windmill fashion e.g right leg left arm or other way round this is the desired method of hardcore dancing

Picking Up Change

  1. Stand with your legs spread shoulder length apart.
  2. Clench your fists at your side.
  3. Either:
    • Bend over and punch wildly at the floor [Don't actually hit it.], then
    • Punch in front of you with wild recklessness. Try not to hit people in the head.
  4. When pulling back from the punch or grab, throw your elbows as far back as possible.
    • Note: This move is also done with actual picking/grabbing at the floor and in front of you. Thus how it got its name,"Picking up change"

Horse Kick

  1. Stand with your legs together.
  2. Bend the leg you are about to kick with, so your thigh is almost parallel with the floor.
  3. Bend over and kick behind you as hard as you can, while "picking up change" with your opposite arm. Try not to hit anyone.

Pitcross

  1. Stand with one foot in front of the other, with your fists up in front of your face, like a boxer would. Your dominant hand should be behind your non-dominant one.
  2. Come out swinging. One way is to use a jab-left hook combo across the pit. Try not to hit anyone.
  • Remember, if they happen to fall, help them get up! That could lead to serious injury being trampled by a bunch of pumped up hardcore moshing kids.

Front Kick

  1. Stand with your legs spread shoulder length apart.
  2. Clench your fists, like in "picking up change."
  3. Take one leg and move it back in sort of a half step.
  4. Kick forward with the leg that you moved back with a mighty roar! Make sure to lean against the direction of the kick. Make sure not to lean too far back, or you will fall upon your back, much to the bemusement of all. Try not to hit anyone.

Warnings

  • People have been sent to the hospital for being in hardcore pits. Dance responsibly and don't hurt anyone.
  • Never go out with the intention to hurt someone.

Things You'll Need

  • Water
  • Comfortable shoes
