Breed a Blue Fire Dragon in DragonVale

The blue fire dragon is an all-blue dragon to place in your park in DragonVale. Born of both fire and cold elements, this is a dragon of interesting qualities indeed!

Steps

  1. Go to your breeding cave or the epic breeding island. Your park needs to be at level 9 or higher.
  2. Pair a fire dragon with a cold hybrid dragon. For example, a storm dragon or an ice dragon. Fire and storm seem to be the most compatible for a blue fire dragon outcome.
    • Obviously, cold and fire are incompatible, hence a hybrid is needed. It is also possible to breed a cold dragon with a fire hybrid dragon to get a blue dragon.
    • Both dragons should be at least at level 10 to guarantee success.
    • Placement of the fire dragon first in the cave may affect the outcome positively.[1]
  3. Wait 12 hours for breeding. Breeding time can be hastened by spending gems.
    • You'll know the attempt at getting a blue fire dragon has failed if you get a scorch or firefly dragon after 3-5 hours, or a storm dragon after 5 hours (all good dragons nonetheless).
    • If the breeding continues, you should find a blue fire dragon after 12 hours. The egg is red with snowflakes across it, a nod to the heat and cold that go into making this dragon.
  4. Put the egg into the nursery to incubate. Wait another 12 hours until it hatches.
  5. Place the blue dragon in a cold or a fire habitat. To help it grow, feed it the same food as all baby dragons.

Tips

  • As with all dragon breeding, it may take a few attempts to get this dragon. Just keep trying.
  • At level 1, this dragon will earn 20 coins per minute. At level 10, it will earn 130 coins per minute. (These are without boosts.) Earn coins then buy more of these dragons!
  • The blue fire dragon's opposite is the frostfire dragon.
