Do you have some dark videos which you would like to brighten up so you can see them better? Let's lighten them up!

Steps

  1. Get a software named "VirtualDub" from http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/
  2. Launch VD (Virtual Dub) and open your video file.
  3. Re-compress the video and audio. If you skip this step, the output video size will be colossal (a few GB if is a long video). Choose a codec to compress the video (if you have divx on the recommendation list)
  4. Do the same with audio.
  5. Go to the video/filters (Is at the same place where you went to compress the video...you did that right? ) Add the brightness/contrast filter.
  6. Raise the brightness or contrast as you wish. Try some combinations until the output is the way you want.
  7. Go to File/Save as avi (or press F7).
  8. Virtual Dub will start to process your video. Wait for it to finish. This may take long or not depending on your video length.

Things You'll Need

  • Virtual Dub
  • A video to brighten
