Un Hide Folders and Files on XP

Instead of using the old "Switch to classic" mode, which can actually cause problems, use this way.

Steps

  1. Find the folder that is hidden, or contains hidden files.
  2. Click "Tools".
  3. Click "Folder Options...".
  4. Click "View".
  5. Look for the subcategory called "Hidden Files and Folders"
  6. Check off the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button.

Tips

  • Try not to hide files you use a lot, or files that are important

Warnings

  • Don't be dumb and fiddle with the other settings unless you know what you're doing. Most of the settings won't harm your computer, but they could give you a headache.
