Want to show off to your friends that you can pull off making a double star from a mere rubber band?? Well then read the steps below to see how to do it! Note that if you already know how to make one star, you'll have to skip to the steps that lead to two stars. And if you're left handed, everything here will just be the opposite. Enjoy this trick for parties, when traveling and just for fun!!

Steps

  1. Select a suitable rubber band. Note that you need a specific type of rubber band that can stretch with ease and does not break when stretched for an amount of time. Perhaps the picture will help you to work out the type needed.
  2. Stretch the Use Rubber Bands between your index finger and your thumb.
  3. Go under the band length closest to you, then grab and pull the one furthest from you down towards you. Follow the way it's done in the picture.
  4. Still holding on to that band length, twist it to your left and put it in your little finger. You'll know that you've done this right when you have three holes in your index, thumb and your little fingers, and when there's also a triangle in the middle.
  5. From the thumb, insert your left hand index finger inside that little triangle. Go under to the band length between the little and the index finger, pulling it down in the same hole with your thumb to make a cross-like shape as you can see in the picture.
  6. Now from the little finger, using your middle finger, go upwards and grab the band length that goes downwards, closest to your little finger. Pull it down to make a star.
  7. Release your little finger and your thumb, getting a triangle-like shape with three holes in each finger. Don't release the two fingers on the bottom two holes; just place you little finger and your thumb in there, as shown in the picture.
  8. In that triangle in the middle, put your left hand index and middle finger together in it. However, make sure that your nails are pointing to your hand, and while doing that, grab the top band length down and twist it to the right. Then (and here's the confusing bit), keeping hold of that, grab the band length closest to you from the length from your thumb, and use the middle finger to grab the band length from the little finger.
  9. Keeping hold of that still, put your thumb in the little triangle between your middle and your index finger, pulling it down as you bring your middle and your index finger down as well, finishing with two stars.
  10. Finished.

Tips

  • If you have a new-ish rubber band, stretch it a bit so later it'll be easier to make two stars.
  • If your fingers start to ache, take a quick break. Relax your hand and stretch it.
  • If you make a mistake, keep trying. You'll get it soon enough.
  • If you are really struggling ask someone who knows how to do it to make it easier for you.

Things You'll Need

  • Strong rubber band (and some spares)
