Have you ever wanted to create a Sonic the Hedgehog version of yourself and/or maybe one of your siblings and/or friends as well? If you've got time, this article will help you be recreated Sonic style in less than one day.

Steps

  1. Decide on a name. Every good character deserves a name, right? You could name it after yourself or make a sensible name for it. Sonic got his name because of his unbelievable speed, Miles "Tails" Prower got his name because of his two tails and his ability to fly, and Knuckles the Echidna got his name from the spikes on his fists and his punches.
  2. Decide what animal it will be. A hedgehog is not recommended, as there are over 10 in the entire series, but you could use your zodiac animal or favorite animal and start from that; examples of these can be a zebra, hog, fraggle, steer, wolf, rabbit, bear, etc.
  3. Choose your character's personality traits. Include what he/she likes, what he/she dislikes, their general mood, and other main traits they have.
  4. Choose your character's superpowers; super speed is not recommended because that primary belongs to Sonic, Scourge, and Shadow. However, super strength, super intelligence, and kinesis abilities, such as cryokinesis (control of ice), geokinesis (control of earth) or pyrokinesis (control of fire), are available superpowers.
  5. Create a backstory. Was your character born or created and did it have a traumatic past or not?
  6. Design your character's attire. Decide what clothes and shoes it will wear. While most male characters tend to not wear clothes in the Sonic franchise, females do. Some characters wear sneakers while others wear boots. It's up to you.
  7. Decide the alignment of your character. Is your character good, bad, or neutral? You can even go further with his/her alignment by reviewing his/her personality and adding lawful, chaotic, or balanced to his/her alignment.
  8. Choose your character's gender.
  9. Add spines, tails, wings, or whatever will fit your character's species. You could also add extra stuff such as headbands, necklaces/tags, bracelets, etc.
  10. Take time to read through your character's details again and change anything if necessary until you're satisfied with your results. Afterwards, you'll be finished.

Tips

  • If you need additional help to draw your character, go to a Sonic character on DragoArt.com and practice drawing them.
  • If you want, you could make different types of characters! Just don't overdo it.
  • You can also write a story about them with the Sonic cast!
  • Try doing remakes of your character(s) to put them in an alternate Sonic universe and/or put them in a relationship. If you put your character in a relationship, its personality doesn't have to be the same as his/her love interest.
  • If you want your character to be friends with your favorite Sonic character(s), but you don't know that character(s) too well, go to them on Wikipedia or Mobius Encyclopedia.
