This is a very simple card trick that doesn't require any experience (if done correctly).

Steps

  1. Find your king, queen, jack and ace for each suit, and put it in that order to make a pile.
  2. Put each pile on top of each other.
  3. Ask your victim to cut the deck (separate it in half) 4 times.
  4. With the back facing to you, pick up one card at a time and put them on the ground or a table face up.
  5. Do the first row. If at first it goes jack, ace, queen, king instead, don't panic, as it should still be the same order for the next row.
  6. You should now finish with 4 piles of each type of card.

Tips

  • Make a story. e.g. say that "all 4 kings wanted to have a holiday, but couldn't go without their queen, the queens couldn't go without their sons and the sons couldn't go without their gold "(aces). (Put the cards together, cut them 4x...). Say "And you know how royal families are; they all argue. (Put cards in piles). "So the kings stayed together, the queens stayed together, the jacks stayed together and the gold stayed together."

Warnings

  • Practice your story so that you don't seem so nervous about it
  • If you don't cut the cards in the middle, or near the middle, they get out of order

Things You'll Need

  • 4 kings, queens, jacks and aces from the same pack, all different suits
  • Some sort of workspace
  • 'Victim'
