Cheat Engine can help you save some time and cut corners on a few video games. It's a great option if you're into a game but don't want to invest more time in the game than you have to offer. Using the popular Plants vs. Zombies game as an example, you can get cheating and save time while having all the fun it offers. It's important to know all of your available cheats so you can get the most of your games.

Steps

  1. Download Cheat Engine. You can find it at http://cheatengine.org/downloads.php.
  2. Download the game you want to use Cheat Engine on. This tutorial will use Plants vs. Zombies.
  3. Open both the game and Cheat Engine.
  4. Click on the “open processes” icon in upper left Cheat Engine window.
  5. In the process list, click the “PlantsVsZombies.exe” option. Click on “open."
  6. Select the value you want to change. For instance, when you open a new game of Plants vs. Zombies, you see you have only 25 suns.
  7. Enter the new value in Cheat Engine. For example, enter 25 in the Hex field and click “First Scan." You'll get a lot of data in the table at left marked "Address" and "Value."
  8. See the value change inside the game. For instance, when you pick up another sun in Plants vs. Zombies, your energy will be 100.

Using Cheat Engine Manually

  1. Type the value you have into the "Value" field. In Cheat Engine, for example, type 100 into the “Value” field and click on “Next Scan." Now you see the only one address and one value in the table on the left.
  2. Double-click on the value. In the example, it's 100. When you double-click on the value, you have the option below in the “Add Address Manually” table. Now double-click on 100 in the "Add Address Manually” table.
  3. Change the value. In the Change Value window, for example, change 100 to a huge value like 99999999, and click “OK."Double-check your new value in the game. In Plants vs. Zombies, for instance, there are now 9999999 suns.

Warnings

  • Never choose more than one value from the left box as it may close down your Internet.
  • Don't use art money, as it only changes what the game LOOKS like. It doesn't change the actual values.
  • If you use this on a VAC or other anti-cheat protected server, you will get banned.

Things You'll Need

  • Cheat Engine 6.3 .
  • Calculator (optional)
