This wikiHow teaches you how to see how much space an app is taking up on your iPhone or iPad. Unfortunately, you cannot monitor RAM usage on an iOS device.

10 Second Summary

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap Storage & iCloud Usage.
4. Tap Manage Storage under "Storage".
5. Look at the number to the right of an app.

Steps

  1. Open your iPhone's or iPad's Settings. It's the grey gear icon typically found on the Home Screen.
  2. Tap General. You should see this option toward the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap Storage & iCloud Usage. It's toward the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap Manage Storage under the "Storage" section. This section is at the top of the page. Doing so will open a list of your device's apps in order from most to least space consumed.
    • Tapping the second Manage Storage on this page will open the iCloud page where you can check the capacity of your iCloud Drive.
  5. Scroll to an app and look at the number to the right of it. This number represents how much total space the app is taking up.
    • You can also tap the app to see a breakdown of which aspects are taking up the most space.

Tips

  • The number to the right of "Used" and "Available" beneath the "Storage" heading refer to how much of your iPhone's/iPad's storage is occupied and how much remains available for use, respectively.
