There are many hairstyles that will work with thick hair! This is a great one for any age!

Steps

  1. If your hair is not naturally curly, curl it first using overnight curlers. Make sure they will work with your hair.
  2. Make your own overnight curlers using tinfoil. Tear off a square piece, fold it in half several times until you have what looks like a small stick about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} long. Fold the "stick" in half so it is about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} long. You can also buy hair curlers from most stores.
  3. Moisten your hair with a spray bottle until it is slightly damp. You don't want your hair soaking wet, but you also don't want your hair perfectly dry.
  4. Starting at the bottom of your hair, twist a small, 1/2-1" section of hair around the curler. Do this until all of your hair is in curlers.
  5. Remove the curlers when you wake up. Don't panic if the curls are very tight and curled up around your head. Finger comb through them and if they are still really tight, spritz your hair with some water and blow dry it until the curls have loosened.

Style Option # 1

  1. Finger-comb your hair into a high ponytail. Make sure the ponytail is semi loose, and in the center of you head.
  2. Use your finger to make a part down the middle of your head, starting at the crown and ending at the top of your ponytail. The part has to be in the middle of your head, or else this hairstyle will not work.
  3. Pull the two sections of hair apart above the ponytail to form a pocket.
  4. Fold the entire ponytail up and gently tuck it down into the pocket. Try to distribute the hair as evenly as you can.
  5. Push the elastic band down into the tuck so that it is hidden from view.
  6. Use a single bobby pin to secure the hidden elastic band. The bumpy part of the bobby pin should be facing your head, while the straight part is facing out.
  7. Use hairspray to make it hold. You can also the hairspray to calm down any flyaways.

Style Option #2

  1. Divide your hair in half and pull all the hair on your left side over that shoulder to keep it out of the way.
  2. Pick up a small section of hair from over and in front of your left ear and twist it up. Hold the twisted section in your left hand, close to your head.
  3. Continue twisting while gradually adding hair until all the hair on your left side has been twisted.
  4. Secure this twist by clipping it to your head so your hands are free to do the other side.
  5. Repeat on the right side.
  6. Unfasten the clip on the left side and gather the two sections together into a ponytail
  7. Finish by tying a ribbon around the elastic. ...and you'll look like Cinderella after that!

Tips

  • Use hairspray to hold the hairstyles more easily
