This is an article on increasing your skills, attributes and weapon proficiencies by following some easy steps and without playing for hours. You may call it a cheat but I discovered it myself.

Steps

  1. After starting the game and making your character, go the character screen (default button 'c').
  2. Click on the statistics button on the bottom-left side of the screen.
  3. A new screen will come up. Click on "Export Character" and your character will be exported successfully.
  4. Close the game.
  5. Editing the Character file. Now go the "My Documents" or to your "Documents" folder.
    • In the older games, it will be located in the folder where you have installed the game (e.g. -C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\CharExport).
  6. There open the folder named "Mount&Blade Warband Characters"
    • There you will find the .txt file of your character. For example, if you named your character Miguel and then exported it, then the name of the file will be Miguel.
  7. Open the exported character file (which will be on your characters name description in the previous step) and there you will see all the details of your character. Here is a sample:
    • charfile_version = 1
    • name = john
    • xp = 1034
    • money = 1500
    • attribute_points = 0
    • skill_points = 0
    • weapon_points = 0
    • strength = 9

Warnings

  • Make sure you do not change your character name before importing because it imports character by the name.Read "char_export.txt" file in CharExport folder for more info.
  • It is strongly recommended that you do not increase your skills directly. Increase only attribute points, skill points and weapon points first and then increase your skills and proficiencies by opening the game and going to the character screen where you can increase your skills more easily. By this way you can avoid any malfunctions or errors in game, such as increasing your looting skill to 50 instead of keeping uppermost limit at ten.
  • Games are made for providing fun to player but there is no fun if there is no challenge in game. That is why cheats are not advised to be used, unless you are stuck or you just want some fun being so strong or just because you simply you want to cheat!
