This is for Need for speed underground 2. The steps show how to do it, and is mostly already known by people.

Steps

  1. Approach the corner/turn at speed.
  2. Hold the handbrake (R1 is the default button for Playstation 2) briefly.
  3. Turn towards the corner or turn with the brake, the car will slide around sort of sideways.
  4. Sling yourself back in the opposite to turning direction.
  5. Just drive away. Read tips if you are having problems.

Drifting (manual) NFSU2

  1. Before you approach the corner of turn you must know the angle of the turn and the field depth in order to minimize the decrease in RPM(rounds per minute). You must also know how wide is the corner you are going to enter.
  2. Keep a significant distance from the guard rail before attempting to drift.
  3. For manual drivers with stability control off, you can shift to lower gear then after a slight break turn toward the corner and release the directional button(left of right) then shift to higher gear and slam the accelerator (up arrow) and the car will slide smoothly if properly executed.
  4. This may vary depending on the tuning setup

Tips

  • Need for speed underground 2 help (mainly, may work for other games)
  • If you hit the wall, drive on the opposite side of the turn approaching it, or go wide and turn sharply into the turn to get a cleaner turn and miss all the walls.
  • If you spin out of control, try to not hold the brake for long and try to increase/decrease your acceleration or turning.
  • In performance Tuning, Set Tires Grip at the lowest, and Suspension on hard [all]
  • To practice drifting round turns/bends go to the Jackson heights, which has many turns on a hill which you can drive up and the have a long drift down, like the training in the fast and the furious: Tokyo drift, when the guy constantly drives down the hill, or for city, like when he is in the parking lot.
  • Practice it in game on DIFFERENT turns, not all the turns require the same drift, and practicing on different turns will help you learn better and teach you how to judge your drift.
  • If you are wanting to practice for drifting, go to Jackson Heights (if you unlocked it) or the highways and practice here!
